Man Killed in Early Morning Shooting in Southeast D.C.

D.C. police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened overnight in the Southeast section of the district.

At 3:46 a.m., Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 2900 block of 2nd Street after a report of a shooting. They found Kenneth Guytrell Sweet, 30, of Northeast D.C., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and unconcious.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

MPD offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of someone wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
