Man Killed After Shooting in Northeast DC

Multiple shots went off in Northeast D.C. Friday afternoon, and police say man was critically injured. News4’s Shomari Stone reports.

Police in Washington are investigating a shooting in Northeast D.C. after a man was killed in Eckington Friday.

Metropolitan Police identified 20-year-old Matthew Washington of Northwest as the man shot dead.

Police said they recieved reports of a shooting at around 3:50 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Harry Thomas Way, NE where officers found Washington suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.

He was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead.

Washington's death is the 23rd homicide in the District this year.

Police are offering a $25,000 reward and ask anyone with information to call 202-727-9099.
