A Montgomery County man died following a police-involved shooting Wednesday morning in Germantown.
According to police, two officers went to an apartment complex on Eagles Nest Court in the Waring Station neighborhood to follow up on a disconnected 911 call. Police are releasing few details, but said at least one and possibly two of the officers fired their service weapons.
When backup arrived, police found two officers "engaged in life-saving efforts" on a 39-year-old man on the front porch. The man eventually died.
A police spokesperson said a gun and knife were found by his body. The gun was a BB or pellet gun that was a replica of a semi-automatic handgun.
Both officers have been placed on administrative leave. Police said it is unclear if the man fired at police.
