Loudoun School's Trip to Former Plantation Teaches Lessons on Racial Equity

Fourth graders at Frederick Douglass Elementary School traveled with the Loudoun Freedom Center to a former plantation where 100 enslaved African-Americans once worked. The goal of their trip: to document what they see for a future class project that will raise awareness to the county’s complicated past. Northern Virginia Bureau Chief Julie Carey reports.
