ICC Opens Tuesday

After decades of controversy and construction, the full length of the Intercounty Connector is now open. The newest and final section, which runs between Georgia Avenue and I-95 in Laurel, opened early this morning…several hours before the advertised 6 A.M. opening. It completes the nearly 18 mile all electronic toll road between I-270 in Gaithersburg and I-95 in Laurel. It will cost you 25 cents a mile to drive the road during peak hours, or 4-dollars to travel the entire length. But until December 5th you can test drive the road for free.
