Weather Alert: Rain Moves Out, Wind Will Be Strong

Storm Team4 is tracking the possibility of severe storms with heavy blinding rain, strong damaging winds and a chance of hail and weak, isolated tornadoes

A tornado watch is in effect for the entire D.C. area until 3 a.m. with an increasing chance of thunderstorms and strong winds as a front moves into the area. Storm Team4 meteorologist Somara Theodore has your updated weather forecast.

After strong storms overnight, rain is moving out of the D.C. area early Monday, with just a few showers left here and there. Winds will be the main story Monday, but the severe weather threat is over.

The overnight storms left lots of downed trees in their wake. A tornado watch for the entire area expired overnight.

Clouds will slowly move into the area for a breezy afternoon as temperatures fall back into the 60s.
