For-Profit College Students Say They're Left in Limbo

A recent crackdown on for-profit colleges has left thousands of students in limbo. The government says it’s protecting students’ best interest in taking action against schools like Medtech and ITT Tech; earlier this fall, the U.S. Department of Education said it would no longer allow the school to enroll students receiving federal financial aid. Immediately afterward ITT closed 137 campuses in 39 states, stranding 43,000 students. The industry, meanwhile, says it’s being unfairly targeted. In the middle are students who have paid for credits, and some are having trouble transferring them to other schools. News4 Consumer Reporter Susan Hogan heard their stories.
