Fois Gras Vandals May Have Struck Again

Rocks thrown through window

COLUMBIA, Md. -- Howard County police said vandals have struck again at a Columbia restaurant defaced last month in an apparent protest of foie gras.

Last month, someone broke several windows and spray-painted "Get rid of the foie gras" on a walkway at the Iron Bridge Wine Company. On Monday, a restaurant worker discovered rocks had been thrown through a window.

This time, co-owner Steve Wecker said no references were made this time to foie gras, a delicacy made from the livers of ducks and geese force-fed grains to fatten them up. But he believed that vandals were trying to convey the same message.

Police said no one has been charged in last month's incident and Monday's incident is still under investigation.
