A fire sent smoke billowing out of a historic home in the Old Town neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, Wednesday afternoon.
The couple who lives at the home in the 200 block of S. Fairfax Avenue said they were parking their car outside the house when a postal worker walking alerted them about the fire.
Two firefighters who responded to the scene suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and were hospitalized, the Alexandria Fire Department said. No one else was hurt.
Blustery conditions made it tough for firefighters to put out the flames. It's still unclear what caused the fire.
