Fee on Your Water Bill Helps Pay for Centuries-Old Water Main Fix

Some of the oldest pipes in the country run under D.C.’s streets. That includes the water main beneath MacArthur Boulevard that ruptured Wednesday and is snarling traffic in Northwest. It’s a messy break that needs a lot of work, but everyone who has D.C. water in their homes is helping pay for the repairs.
