Fire Destroys Home in Manassas

News4’s Darcy Spencer talks to neighbors on Lucasville Road about the fire that destroyed a home Thanksgiving morning. No one was home at the time of the fire, but several pets died in the blaze. Neighbors wonder whether the fire is connected to a power outage.

Prince William County fire is investigating an early morning fire at a home in Manassas, Va.

Flames engulfed the house in the 11500 block of Lucasville Road before 4:30 a.m. The residents were not home.

Firefighters from Prince William County and Manassas Volunteer Fire needed more than a half hour to control the fire.

Two dogs died in the fire. Neighbors said the couple that lived there also had snakes, ferrets and other animals that died in the fire.

Prince William County Fire is investigating whether a power outage and subsequent power surge may have cause the fire, News4's Darcy Spencer reports.

The Red Cross is assisting the people who live there.
