Severe thunderstorms moved through parts of the D.C. area Tuesday afternoon as we sweated out another scorcher but a heat advisory issued at noon and a thunderstorm watch issued about 3:20 p.m. have been dropped.
For the seventh straight day, the high temperature reached 95 degrees, Storm Team4 said.
Reagan National Airport reached 100 degrees for the third day in a row Monday. Storm Team4 says the last time it was this hot for this long was four years ago when the area saw four consecutive 100-degree days in July 2012.

Due to the high track temperatures, Metro trains are operating under a 35-mph speed restriction at all above-ground stations. System-wide delays are possible.
