Defense Exercises Planned in DC-Area Airspace

Don't be surprised if you see military aircraft over the D.C. area this week.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is set to conduct an air exercise in the region between Tuesday and Thursday, the organization announced Monday.

One MH-65D Dolphin helicopter and two Civil Air Patrol Cessna 182T aircraft were set to be used in the exercise. They could fly at about 2,500 feet.

The exercise supports Operation Noble Eagle, which pertains to the surveillance and control of airspace in the United States and Canada.
