Marcelus Jermaine Jackson identified victim in Wednesday's shooting

Police have identified the man who was found shot inside a burning vehicle early Wednesday morning in Fort Washington as Marcelus Jermaine Jackson. NBC4’s Tracee Wilkins has more on the story.

Prince George’s County Police Officers have released the name of a victim who died early Wednesday morning in an apparent shooting in Fort Washington, Md.

Marcelus Jermaine Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene of a car fire and apparent shooting.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday in the 1100 block of Palmer Road.  An officer found a man, later identified as Jackson, inside a burning vehicle.  He apparently had been shot.

The officer pulled Jackson from the vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe that the car caught on fire as it drifted backward and the engine ignited some leaves.
