A Southeast Washington apartment building was evacuated Thursday morning after an SUV crashed into the side of the building.
The SUV slammed into a building on the 5000 block of D Street SE just after 6:30 a.m., D.C. Fire and EMS shared on Twitter.
Fire officials say the SUV hit a load-bearing wall, and 20 residents were evacuated.
The occupants of the vehicle left the scene.
One resident was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
No additional information was released.
