George Washington Parkway South Reopens After Crash

The southbound lanes of the George Washington Parkway are back open after a crash involving five vehicles blocked the road for nearly two hours.

The accident happened at about 6 a.m. Tuesday. One of the vehicles, a silver SUV, left the roadway and went down an embankment.

It's not clear what caused the accident.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

GW Parkway was closed from the Beltway to Turkey Run.  The parkway has since reopened.
