Montgomery County Police believe they caught the people who have been stealing credit cards from women's purses.

A couple from Germantown targeted people at the grocery store where they work, police said.

Three victims had their credit cards stolen while shopping at Trader Joe’s on Rockville Pike, according to police.

Police received several tips after releasing surveillance photos of the suspects.

Raymond Clayborne insists he didn’t do it.

“I work at this place,” he said. “They had that same picture posted at my job, where I was working every day. Nobody at my job said anything.”

When police searched Clayborne’s Germantown home, they recovered a table and two lamps purchased with one of the stolen credit cards.

“They took out of my house a dining room table and two lamps that we had in storage for two years,” Clayborne said. “We just moved into this house eight, nine months ago.”

Clayborne said he is still working at the store and looks forward to clearing the name of his wife and himself.
