Commute Safety and Bias Incident Response Top MCPS Superintendent Priorities

Montgomery County School Superintendent Jack Smith says he was sickened by a pair of December crashes that killed an elementary school student and injured a high school student while commuting to and from school. The crashes prompted Smith to order a review of the school system’s safety procedures. As News4’s Chris Gordon reports, the school system is also reviewing efforts to combat hate and bias in their schools.
