Areas along the Potomac River and elsewhere could see flooding overnight and early Tuesday.
A coastal flood advisory is in effect from 3 to 9 a.m. Tuesday for the entire Washington-Baltimore area.
The National Weather Service warns that tides could be 1.5 feet higher than normal and low-lying areas could get "minor inundation."
High tide will be 6:09 a.m. in Washington Channel and 6:27 a.m. in Alexandria.
