Clear the Shelters: Adoption Fees Waived Saturday

NBC and Telemundo stations are teaming up with animal shelters across the country for the second annual Clear the Shelters event on Saturday. Lauren Lipsey, director of rehoming for the Washington Humane Society, gave more information about the event. Lipsey said the shelter will waive adoption fees, and you can take your pet home the day you adopt it. She said adopting a pet is a commitment for that pet’s entire life, but she spoke with NBC4’s Aaron Gilchrist about how to know if you’re ready for a pet.
