City Year Holds Annual Kick-Off Event

More than 150 young people have taken a pledge to spend the next year helping kids at some of the highest-need schools in the D.C. City Year held its annual kick-off for its new core members.The group will work side-by-side with teachers at 13 D.C. schools, supporting students who need extra care and attention. News4’s Danella Sealock was on hand to help emcee the event, which was moved from Freedom Plaza to the Cardozo Education Campus due to Thursday’s rain.
