Despite Twitter rumors to the contrary, "godfather of go-go" Chuck Brown is still with us, City Paper first reported.
Brown recently had to postpone a performance at Howard Theatre; he was hospitalized in late April.
But then Twitter users started buzzing Wednesday morning that Brown had died. Sample tweet from @Why_SoSeriousB: "hold up Chuck Brown died???"
"False," Brown's manager, Tom Goldfogle, confirmed in an email to NBC4.
Brown's Howard show, now moved to June 29, is already sold out.
