D.C. police are trying to figure out if two men found just about 50 feet apart near I-295 may have died as a result of the dramatic drop in the temperature. News4’s Pat Collins reports.

The bodies of two men were found about 50 feet apart on either side of Interstate 295 in Southeast Wednesday, D.C. police said.

There is no word on a suspected cause of death of either of the men at this time, but there is no sign of foul play, and police said they believe the men were homeless, News4's Pat Collins reported..

Police say they're conducting separate death investigations.

They're looking into the possibility of hypothermia. D.C. issued a hypothermia alert overnight as temperatures plummeted from about 70 degrees to below freezing.
