Baby Expected to Be Fine After Being Abandoned on Busy Downtown D.C. Street

Mark Segraves was on the scene to get exclusive video of an infant left in a stroller on a busy sidewalk. The baby is fine, and a woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.

D.C. police and firefighters responded to reports of an abandoned baby on a busy downtown street Tuesday.

The infant was found in a stroller on E Street near the D.C. Court of Appeals. No adults were near the baby.

The baby was taken to a hospital and is in good health. Child and Family Services currently has custody of the baby. 

The child's aunt was arrested about a block away from where the infant was found. She was charged with second-degree cruelty to a child.

Police have located the child's parent, sources said.
