American University to Honor Someone in Douglass' Memory

Two hundred years after the birth of Frederick Douglass, American University will honor someone who embodies his spirit of inspiring change. “God put him here for a purpose, and here we are 200 years later and we’re still talking about him,” Nettie Washington Douglass, Fredrick Douglass’ great-great-granddaughter said.
