Montgomery County Police say a man is in custody following a barricade situation at a Gaithersburg home Monday afternoon.
Officials said a barricade situation involving a heavy police presence Monday afternoon at a Gaithersburg town home was spurred by an argument between business partners.
Montgomery County Police officers responded to a home off Emory Grove Road just before 5 p.m. for a reported assault.
The owner of that hope pulled a shotgun on his business partner, who then ran from the home. Police helped evacuate neighbors during the standoff.
Police negotiated with the man for approximately 2 hours. The man who brandished the shotgun is now behind bars.
