Arrest Made in Killing of Man With Autism, Caregiver in Northeast DC Home

Two men were shot and killed in a Northeast D.C. home Wednesday night. News4’s Jackie Bensen spoke with the uncle who raised one of the victims.

Police have arrested a man accused in the slaying 24-year-old man who had autism and his home health aide in a Northeast D.C. home Wednesday night.

Davon Peyton, 27, of Alexandria, Virignia, was arrested Saturday. He is charged with premeditated first degree murder while armed, police say.

Devan Miler and his caregiver, 27-year-old Lekelefac Fonge, of Lanham, Maryland, returned to Miler’s grandmother’s home on Rosedale Street NE before 10 p.m. after a day out together, police said. Shortly after they arrived, a gunman entered the home and opened fire.

Police identified Peyton as a suspect after the shooting. They haven't detailed a motive.
