“Paper or Plastic?” Pay Up!

Staring January 1, 2010, Washington D.C. will become the first in the nation to charge for plastic and paper bags. Food retailers will charge 5 cents for each bag you take. The tax is meant to promote recycling and help clean up the Anacostia River.
