2 Women Assaulted on Centreville Trails

Police are investigating two similar assaults on women in Centreville that happened just hours apart.

A woman was walking on a path along Braddock Road near Sully Station Drive about 3:20 p.m. April 18, police say. A man suddenly grabbed her from behind, touched her inappropriately and ran away.

About three hours later, a similar attack happened to another woman at a park on Walney Road.

Police say a white man, described as in his late teens to early twenties with short dark hair and glasses, was approaching people and asking them for hugs. He then approached another woman from behind and pressed his body against hers.

She confronted the man and he ran away, police said.

As police continue to investigate, they warn you should only walk or run in areas you're familiar with and to tell someone you trust where you're going.
