Couple Killed in Double Homicide in Anne Arundel County

A man and a woman were found killed early this morning in Shady Side Maryland. Police are still investigating, and neighbors are still in shock. News4’s Megan McGrath is live with the latest.

A man and woman who lived on a houseboat in Maryland were found fatally shot Thursday in Anne Arundel County, and their deaths are being investigated as a homicide. 

Leslie Smith and Linda McKenzie were found dead in Shady Side, Maryland, about 12:30 a.m. Thursday after police received a report of gunshots, police said.

They were in a relationship and lived together on a houseboat in the Rock Hold Creek area, police said.

Their bodies were found near Scott Town and Nick roads. Footage from Chopper4 appears to show police tape near a home.

Police searched the area with patrol officers, K-9 and a helicopter but didn't find any suspects. Police interviewed several witnesses.

Police do not believe there is any threat to the public.
