Man's Skeletal Remains Found in Frederick Co.

Man was in his 40s

MOUNT PLEASANT, Md. -- The Frederick County Sheriff's Office is investigating the skeletal remains of a man in his 40s found by a hunter east of Frederick.

Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said the bones were found at about noon Saturday by a hunter walking in the woods along Gas House Pike, about three miles east of Frederick and a mile south of the unincorporated community of Mount Pleasant.

Bailey said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore is working to identify the man and determine the cause of his death.  She said the body may have been in the area since summer.

The medical examiner said the man had a previous injury to his left foot that may have caused him to walk with a limp.

The man was wearing a dark knit cap (black or blue) and a dark colored pair of hiking boots (Mountain Gear brand). Anyone with information should contact Det. Regis Secola at 301-600-2825.
