As we've mentioned before, resort lines can be difficult to incorporate into our already over-stuffed summer wardrobes. But a little runway window shopping never hurt anyone, or so we tell ourselves.
That is unless you stumble on a piece you have to have, like the sturdy sandals (above left) from Chloé Resort 2011. Part fierce, part demure they're the perfect complement to this year's easy essentials, and the low heel feels particularly fresh after season upon season of towering platforms.
Luckily, we don't have to pull out the emergency credit cards just yet. A very similar style is available at Carbon for only $269 (above right). Carbon's sandals have the same gladiator-meets-Mary-Jane aesthetic as Chloé's, the same short, square-ish heel, and they are even made in Europe, Italy to be exact.
