Police: Man Arrested for Shooting 3 People With BB Gun in Silver Spring

Video shows a man who police say shot three people with a BB gun. News4’s Aimee Cho reports.

Police say they have arrested a man suspected of using a BB gun to shoot three people on Monday in Silver Spring, Maryland.

An 18-year-old has been arrested, Montgomery County police said Wednesday afternoon. The suspect's name was not immediately released.

The BB gun was recovered, they said.

On Tuesday, News4 obtained video showing a man ducking and running through a warehouse with a weapon in his hand. Police described that man as a suspect.

Three people were shot with BBs Monday night. They said they never saw the shooter.

First, police say the man sneaked into the warehouse of the Global Food grocery store in the Briggs Chaney Market Place shopping center.

Then, they believe he went about a half-mile away and used the BB gun to shoot a man in the 14000 block of Aldora Circle.

Minutes later, he returned to the shopping center and shot two women with the BB gun, police say.

All three victims are expected to be OK.

BB guns are legal because they're considered toys, but police say they're a public safety hazard and people should not carry them.
