If the Chinese can alter the weather to flush out air pollution before the Olympics, then why can't we do something to slow (and possibly reverse) global warming?
President Barack Obama and his new science adviser are pondering just that idea.
An option raised by adviser John Holdren and proposed by a Nobel Prize-winning scientist includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays. Sounds crazy? At one time it might have been. But not now, as the threat of global warming reaches critical levels.
