At least 75 people were killed in two separate attacks on Thursday after suicide bombers detonated explosives in crowded areas in and around Baghdad, according to reports.
A woman with a suicide belt blew herself up as Iraqi police distributed food to the needy in Baghdad, killing 28 people -- including 12 officrers -- and injuring 50, the New York Times reported.
The second attack occurred inside a restaurant in the Diyala Province about 50 miles northwest of the capital where a bomb went off as a group of Iranian tourists were having lunch. The explosion killed 47 and injured 63, the Times reported.
