Mezza Luna Has Something for Everyone

Cowboys fans and foodies come together at this 19th St. hangout

Many restaurants in the District are either over-priced or offer service and atmosphere to match a cheap price tag. Mezza Luna is a rare find where food, service and atmosphere work well together to create an outstanding and reasonably priced experience.

Mezza Luna offers an extensive menu of hot and cold mezzas (small plates), soups, salads, pasta, and entrées such as fish, chicken and steak. While I have tried most of the menu and have enjoyed every selection, the best entrée choice is the wild mushroom ravioli. When you are in the mood for a variety of tastes, ordering a few mezzas works out well. Be sure to try the pan seared chilean sea bass, the toasted cheese ravioli and the sesame and ginger chicken skewers.

For the bar crowd, Mezza Luna is an off-beat combination of a sleek, urban hangout and a Dallas Cowboys bar. During happy hour, the bar offers a $4 menu with selections such as chicken wings (in a variety of flavors) and calamari fritti as well as a $4 drink menu. Be prepared for a crowd on Friday and Saturday nights and during Cowboys games.
