Leprechauns Won't Be Seeing as Much Green This Year

Washingtonians who are lucky enough to find a pot of gold this March are more likely to store it away in the bank then blow it on Irish Car Bombs.

People celebrating St. Paddy's Day will spend an average of $32.80 on decorations, festive clothing, alcohol and food, compared to $35.04 in 2008, according to a study done by the National Retail Federation (NRF).

While most young adults look forward to St. Paddy's Day parties (and lots of green beer), 18-24 year-old spending is expected to decrease from an average of $42.20 last year to $36.05 this year. 25-34 year-olds will spend the most, with an average of $39.42 per person, according to the NRF.
