Small Earthquake Shakes Va.

WASHINGTON — A small earthquake shook Buckingham County in central Virginia Wednesday morning.

The quake, which had a magnitude of 2.4, occurred 3 miles from Dillwyn and had a depth of almost 5 miles, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Geological Survey.

Charlottesville is roughly 31 miles from where the quake occurred.

On March 13, another quake with a magnitude of 2.6 was recorded in Virginia, near Goochland.
