Lane Closures in Montgomery Co. Could Snarl Weekend, Commuter Traffic

WASHINGTON — Motorists in Montgomery County, Maryland, can expect some delays this weekend and in the upcoming week until July 17. Here’s a list of scheduled closures.

A private crane operation will close lanes on MD 355 Southbound between Battery Lane and Cordell Avenue from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 15.

Drivers on Rockville Pike (MD 355) between Wilson Drive and Woodmont Avenue can expect lane closures in each direction starting on July 14 at 9 p.m. till Monday, July 17 at 5 a.m.

Lanes on Old Georgetown Road (MD 187), between Johnson Avenue and Sonoma Road, will be closed Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. and at night on Fridays due to a road widening.

Pedestrian bridge construction will close a single lane on Piney Branch Road (MD 320), near Sligo Creek Parkway, Mondays through Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Lanes will be closed on Colesville Road (US 29) between I-495 and Georgia Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays due to a water line replacement.

Lanes will be closed on Shady Grove Road Bridge over I-370 on Sunday between 4 a.m. and 12 p.m.
