UPDATED: Former Mayor Vincent Gray is expected to win his primary race for his old D.C. Council seat, ousting incumbent Yvette Alexander.

WASHINGTON – In addition to choosing a nominee for president, D.C. Democrats also voted on candidates for several District Council seats.
D.C. Democrats in Wards 4, 7 and 8 had contested primaries Tuesday. And Democratic voters citywide also chose their nominee for an at-large seat on the council, currently held by Vincent Orange.
The D.C. Statehood Green and Republican parties had no contested races this election although the two parties technically held a primary Tuesday.
All results are unofficial until certified by the State Board of Elections.
