2 Found Dead in Cecil County House Fire

ELKTON, Md. (AP) — Authorities say two people were found dead after a house fire in Cecil County.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal said in a news release that the fire was reported late Monday in Elkton. Officials say 50 firefighters from several companies battled the blaze in the single-family house for three hours.

Authorities say one person’s body was found during firefighting efforts. The second body was found Tuesday while the site was being checked by investigators.

The bodies have been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for identification and to determine the cause and manner of death. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
