Forget Starbucks, Columbia Heights has a new coffee-to-go option.
Coco Libre, a practicing fair-trade business, recently opened shop on Sherman Avenue. Being fair trade, they guarantee livable wages for workers and their families, improving their opportunities for better health care, housing and education. By choosing Fair Trade products, people are directly contributing to the livelihood of tea, cocoa, and coffee-growing communities.
Besides coffee and tea, Coco Libre offers paninis, bagels, and Belgian waffles.
Coco Libre is at 786 Harvard Street NW, at Sherman Ave.
