HISTORIC HOLIDAY: Newseum: All Access (555 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.) offers after-hours access to galleries, theaters and interactives -- plus an Autorock DJ, a silent(!) disco room and the unveiling of a photo installation featuring notable D.C. newsmakers of 2010. A cash bar features specialty cocktails and holiday treats from Wolfgang Puck Catering. 8-11 p.m.; $20.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ZOO: ZooLights kicks off at the National Zoo, running Friday through Sunday nights until Jan. 1. The focus will change each week, which this weekend highlighting the Reptile Discovery Center. Go for lighting displays (including a new one featuring Andean bears), live entertainment, and zookeeper talks. The Visitors' Center houses Zoo-themed model trains and entries in the Gingerbread Habitat Contest. The Small Mammal House, Great Ape House, Reptile Discovery Center, Think Tank, and Kids' Farm will be open every night. 6-8:30 p.m.; free admission; parking $15.

FROM IRELAND, OR SPACE: The Capital Irish Film Festival runs through Dec. 11. Catch Irish films and shorts, plus chats with writers and directors. Tonight's offerings include "Zonad," an official selection of the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival -- about a guy who loves beer, and is possibly from outer space.
