The Role of Race in Police Brutality

The fatal beating of 29-year-old Tyre Nichols for which five Memphis police officers have been fired and charged with murder has some pointing out obvious differences between this and other instances of alleged police brutality in communities of color, as the officers in the Memphis case are Black. Investigative Reporter Tracee Wilkins and the News4 I-Team have been digging into research on what role race might play among officers accused of police brutality.
