Breaking Down Ballet Barriers

When Virginia Johnson was a young dancers in the 1960s, she was discouraged from pursuing her dream due to the lack of African-American ballerina. That all changed with the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Now the group is in town to perform at Lincoln Theatre and The Ark in Anacostia.
