Severe Storms Move Through D.C. Region

Severe thunderstorms moved through the D.C. region Thursday night.

Thunder and lightning were reported throughout the area, and the National Weather Service issued several severe thunderstorm warnings over the course of the evening, as were a couple of flash flood warnings.

A flood warning for small streams in Culpeper County, Va., expires at 4:45 a.m.

There is a chance for showers throughout the day Friday. It will not be an all day rain event, Storm4 Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer said.
