A flash flood watch remains in effect for the entire D.C. area as scattered showers and storms continue to move through Sunday evening.

The slow-moving storms could bring torrential rainfall exceeding 2 inches in some areas, the National Weather Service says.

The flash flood watch is in effect until 6 a.m. Monday. Storm Team4 declared a weather alert and said the storms are expected to stick around into the overnight hours.

Meteorologist Clay Anderson said to wear rain boots and bring your umbrellas to work Monday.

Also be aware of the morning commute: Fog, rain and showers are forecast to stick around until around lunchtime. Then more storms and rain is expected Monday evening before nicer weather on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Temperatures reached the mid 80s earlier Sunday, but it felt like the low 90s due to the humidity.
