Chance for Severe Storms Wednesday and Thursday Amid Heat Wave

What to Know

  • Some isolated storms could come through tonight.
  • Severe weather including heavy rainfall, damaging winds, hail and isolated weak tornadoes are all possible on Wednesday.
  • Temperatures will continue to stay in the 80s and 90s for the next couple of days.

Temperatures soared to 90 Tuesday to kick off what Storm Team4 expects will be our first heat wave of the year.

Some isolated storms are possible Tuesday night, especially north of D.C. While the possibility of storms is less certain, any storms that do form will also have a chance to be quite strong.

Overnight lows will be in the upper 80s to mid 70s.

Storm Team4 says Wednesday will be a Weather Alert Day as heavy rainfall, damaging winds, hail and isolated weak tornadoes are all possible. The severe weather is expected between 2 and 8 p.m.

It will also be extremely humid and hot with highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s.

On Thursday, the risk for storms falls slightly. However, with heat and humidity still in place, we could once again see strong to severe thunderstorms.
