Strong storms could bring flooding on Thursday — just days after a deluge of rain flooded many D.C. area roads, homes and businesses.

Thursday will be a Storm Team4 Weather Alert day.

Some scattered showers are possible during the morning.

A line of strong storms is likely during the afternoon and evening hours. The storms could be slow-moving with heavy rain.

Wind gusts could also approach 60 mph, possibly leading to some damage. The best chance for severe weather will fall between 2 and 8 p.m.

Thursday's high temperatures will hit the mid to upper 80s.

A record 3.41 inches of rainfall fell at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in the span of a couple hours. In southern Maryland, along the Patuxent River, 4.03 inches were measured.

The inundation stranded drivers, poured into Metro stations and soaked basements, including the White House's.
