Winter is about to make a quick return to the Mid-Atlantic, and Storm Team4 is tracking the chance for a mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow mix as early as Sunday night.
Temperatures will fall into the 30s by Friday evening, with the wind making it feel even colder.
Saturday will be sunny breezy and cold. Temperatures will be in the mid-20s Saturday morning and stay in the mid to upper 30s for the afternoon, with winds still in the 15-25 mph range. Wind chills Saturday will be in the 20s for most of the day.
Sunday will start out sunny and cold, with temperatures in the mid-20s. Clouds will increase Sunday afternoon with highs in the low 40s.
That chance for a wintry mix could arrive after sunset and continue into Monday morning. It doesn't appear to be a big snow-maker, but slushy conditions could affect schools Monday morning before changing to mostly, if not all, rain by Monday afternoon.
Rain likely changes back to a wintry mix Monday night into Tuesday so there could be additional issues for schools and travel in this time period.
Any mix will change to all rain by Tuesday afternoon as temperatures warm to near 40 degrees.
